About

I'm Christina.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, though the way I think about my work is as a relational therapist. Relationships are what I specialize in. Marriage, dating, long-term partnership, friendships, working relationships, families, parents with young children, parents with adult children, and the relationship you have with yourself, which quietly shapes all the others.

I started Threadwork Therapy because I want to help people find and harness that deep sense of belonging: in their own skin, with the people they love, and in the community that surrounds them.

I don't think of belonging as a soft or secondary thing. It sits underneath most of what actually brings people to therapy. When you've spent years managing yourself to stay acceptable, or performing a version of you that isn't quite right, or carrying something alone because there's nowhere to set it down, you can end up feeling like a stranger inside your own life, and inside the relationships that matter most to you. That's rarely because something is broken. It's usually because belonging got conditional somewhere along the way, and you learned to earn it instead of expecting it.

The work is making room for you to be known, and for the people you love to be able to reach you.

How I work

I work from an emotionally focused and Internal Family Systems framework, and at the center of both is this: every part of you that shuts down, keeps the peace, goes critical, or disappears into compliance has been doing something important. It learned what it learned. It protected what needed protecting.

We'll explore how those parts, yours and your partner's, have shaped the patterns between you. By compassionately witnessing what they've been guarding, we create enough safety for something more honest to come through.

What changes is not just how you fight. It's how you know each other.

I'm warm, direct, and genuinely myself in the room, which tends to make it easier for you to show up as yourself, too. I believe people deserve relationships where they are not just accepted, but celebrated.

Attaching you back to yourself, one part at a time.

Who I work with

I work with couples, individuals, and families navigating life's most disorienting transitions like new parenthood, empty nesting, perimenopause, retirement, and the quiet drift when life changes faster than the relationship can keep up.

Some of what I'm most experienced with:

I see teens, adults, and older adults, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Outside the office

You'll find me on a Saturday morning at my indoor cycling class, where you ride to the beat of the music. It's like a rave, but on a bike, and it is genuinely the highlight of my week. Then I'm off to the farmer's market, if I've timed it right, which is maybe half the time.

My spouse and I have been together for 15 years, have two kids and a dog, and go to as much live music as we can. We got lucky and like the same music, which after 15 years I've come to appreciate is not a small thing. Mostly rock, and lately a lot of EDM and house.

I'm also deeply obsessed with Paint By Numbers. Yes, after the EDM. I can like both. Humans are complex. It's fine. If you pull up next to me at a stoplight, I'm probably belting at a volume that cannot be justified.
